Gardner Village family portraits

As the winter progresses, it becomes more and more of a routine to consciously plan and schedule winter family photo sessions with breaks interspersed to be able to escape the cold and warm up. Poor little Cali probably had the cutest little winter outfit I’ve seen yet this year; she was dressed for it, but we still made sure to take it easy with the cold weather. Part of the fun of shooting on location is that you never know exactly what will happen. It could be a clear sky, or snowing heavily. It could be 40 degrees or 4. It requires a lot of flexibility, but also affords the opportunity for some photographs you never would have planned otherwise. We got one photo in particular while warming up in this little yarn store in Gardner Village that we probably never would have taken if it hadn’t been so cold. The uncertainty of the situation leads to enforced creativity and adaptation.
