Ceremony

With this ring...

I love to share stories from my weddings, but sometimes overcoming writer's block and finding the right words prevents me from actually getting these blog entries posted!  I love the art of language - finding the perfect way to communicate exactly what I want to express.  Choosing my word to convey an emotion or tell a story. But I do not envy the people who write for a living.  Sometimes it's just hard!  This while this was a gorgeous ring ceremony at Highland Gardens and so much could be said... I've got writer's block.  No stories for now, just photos.

LDS Ring Ceremony at Magnolia Grove

Joelle and Brett had a ring ceremony after the sealing at the SLC Temple at Magnolia Grove in South Jordan.  They had a bit of a break in between, so we got some "getting ready" photos in the fabulous brides room there.

Congratulations you two!

I loved the grounds at Magnolia Grove- they were way larger than I initially expected, and everything was immaculate.  It was a perfect location for the ring ceremony.

Maria and Jonny- Wedding Ceremony at Log Haven Restaurant

Maria and Jonny were married at the Log Haven Restaurant up Mill Creek Canyon.  The restaurant is quite a ways up there, but it is worth the drive!  Everywhere you look are gorgeous green trees, and the waterfall and the lake they have across from the restaurant aren't too shabby either.

I about died when the ring bearer walked down arm in arm with the flower girl.  SO CUTE.

Such a beautiful bride!

And we now present.... Mr. and Mrs. Matich!  Newly married and walking triumphantly back down the aisle.

Look at this gorgeous waterfall!  Definitely a big appeal for photos at Log Haven.

Photos from their reception to come!

Chris and Tara- Millennial Falls Wedding

Ok, this post might be a wee bit longer than some others.  I have loved working with Chris and Tara through their save the date shoot, their engagement shoot, Tara's bridal shoot and now their wedding day.  They are both such awesome and easy going people that it's an absolute delight to be their photographer.

Chris and Tara's ceremony and reception were both at the Millennial Falls Reception Center in Draper.  It's quite possibly one of the most beautiful wedding locations that I have ever shot at.  Very sophisticated and elegant feel to the grounds and the buildings (somewhat like Sleepy Ridge in Orem).  Look for a separate details post showing off everything the place has to offer in the near future....

We'll start off with some of the photos of the bride and groom getting ready.  Now most reception centers have rooms for the bride to get ready in, and they are always gorgeous.  However, more often than not the groom gets the short end of the stick.  I actually did one wedding where a venue had this unbelievable suite for the bride to get ready in.  Sitting room, three full mirrors with raised pedestal to check the dress... the works.  The groom had a 6 x 15 foot room with a dented metal folding chair and a table.  The poor guy actually had to enter the room sideways to be able to clear the table and get to the chair- I kid you not!  Millennial Falls is a bit more equitable.  They not only have some gorgeous sunlit rooms for the bride, but have a nice suite for the groom as well.

I loved Tara's dress.  Clean lines, beautiful fabric, and a subtle design add up to a gorgeous and tasteful choice. The fact that Nancy, Chris' mom, made the dress is just icing on the cake of awesomeness.

It's time for the show to start!  Tara gives her mother-in-law to be a big hug and we're ready to go.

There are few times that a woman is more beautiful than walking down the aisle towards her sweetheart.  It's that look of happiness just beaming out for everyone to see.

I loved these parasols that all the girls had.  So fun!

I'm always a sucker for a beautiful waterfall, so we had to start out Chris and Tara's newlywed photos there.  Doesn't this photo just epitomize the summer wedding day?  Beautiful sunlight, greenery and gorgeous trees in bloom, and a kiss on a footbridge.  Summer love in a nutshell.

Not just a good-looking couple, Chris and Tara were simply fun.  Fun to talk to, fun to shoot, fun to be around.

Once it started getting a bit later, we snuck away for a couple minutes to get some more pictures of the two of them.  I love when reception centers light up the grounds and the building well.  It really can make or break the photo.

More posts to come soon, with details and other photos from the reception.

Lindsey & Ben

I think Lindsey might be the most beautiful bride I've ever photographed.  She has such poise and a perfect smile.  I know her family because I took several photography lessons from her father, Kenneth Linge.  I've learned so much from him and felt so honored to be there with the family as the photographer (ok, maybe a little bit nervous too... and trying to remember everything I learned from my lessons!)
The wedding was at The Getaway at the Cascade Golf Center.  It's this amazing little building at the highest point in Orem overlooking the valley.  The view is absolutely spectacular!

Lindsey is one of the sweetest people I have met.  I was so glad I was there to show record how happy she and Ben were...

We stopped by the Riverwoods to shoot some newlyweds the same day as the cermony-  we got some fantastic shots!
Relaxed? Check.  Colorful?  Check.  Sweet textures?  Check.  Awesome laugh?  Check.

Janet + Adam (Kingdom Hall Ceremony)

Janet and Adam had a beautiful ceremony at their church.  Unfortunately, I didn't understand it - it was all in Spanish!  My husband Thomas said that the pastor gave some great advice to the couple though. I'll have to trust him on that one. Mi esposo sabe siempre. (I pick up bits here and there).

I might not speak Spanish very well, but all I need to know is that they are happy and I can see that by the looks on their faces as they walk down the aisle. Congratulations Janet and Adam!

Mike + Marie: The Big Show

Marie bought these beautiful shoes below for the wedding, but cracked her tibia shortly before their formals session.  So she ended up wearing the much more comfortable option above. :D

Something I really enjoy attending a wedding is seeing the relationship between the parents and their child.  Marie's parents were wonderful, and super supportive throughout the wedding.  Marie's dad was cracking jokes the whole time.

Rustic Charm- A wedding at Wadley Farms

This was a beautiful ceremony and reception at Wadley Farms in Lindon.  It was so GREEN!!!

Yeah yeah yeah, I know the bride is supposed to be the focal point, and it's her day, but every single wedding that I shoot where there is a flower girl I question where my loyalties lie.  Brandy's daughter was ADORABLE. She starts down the aisle, dumps half her flowers immediately and looks back at her mom, who encourages her to keep going.  She then goes to the end of the aisle and happily dumps the remaining half.

Miniature tuxes.  Enough said!
I love my job.

This was a gorgeous reception venue!  A fantastic combination of rustic country and sophisticated elegance.
