When Autumn Leaves Start to Fall

Love is in the air!  As a photographer, there is never a season that makes me more excited than just at the end of summer with the first hint of fall.  The sun is shining and there are speckles of yellows and oranges up in Park City.  A perfect day for an engagement shoot.

I love this sequence below!  No, this is not the photo they would put on their announcement, but these are the photos that show life, relationship - MOMENTS.

Now, we actually had an audience for the Park City Main Street photos.  A group stood behind me trying to figure out how the lights were working and how we could get a decent photo when it was so dark, and another group cheered when they dipped in the middle.  I think it's always fun - and Geoffrey and Lauren seem to be perfect models, they can handle the paparazzi, the attention - makes my job easy!

Emily

Emily Mangum was an intern with me this last winter and spring.  She and her husband Ryan moved to Boston so Ryan could finish school, so sadly we don't get to hang out that much anymore.  Emily was a fantastic intern.  She was always happy and fun to be around.  She is incredibly hardworking, and a very talented photographer.  She is also one of those people who is always positive... no matter when you talk to her she's always got a smile on her face.

Right before Emily and Ryan moved away, we did this portrait shoot for them at Nielsen's Grove in Orem.

These cupcakes were delicious.  Almost as delicious as her apron was cute.  Ryan, you're a lucky man!!!

Ryan and Emily are both sports fans, so we showed a little baseball spirit. :D

I also wanted to take a minute to feature Emily's photos.  She was able to put together a good portrait portfolio before they left Utah, and I especially love her black and white's!  If you know anyone in the Boston area who needs photos...

In the City and on the Beach

Meet Justin.  He started an internship with me in January.  He's a photography student and is doing quite well establishing his own wedding/portrait photography business as well.

Meet Mallory.  She's Justin's wife and partner-in-crime. They are in love.

By the way, Mallory has awesome shoes.

We did an "anniversary" shoot at Park City and at the Great Salt Lake at Saltair.

The lights at Park City at night make for some awesome shots, but the sky at Saltair was unreal.

I call this photo the "Big Dip-her." Hahaha.  Hah.

Justin and Mallory don't only shoot with cameras.  They are also big airsoft fans.  So we got a little "Bonnie and Clyde" action going on here....

Justin and Mallory have two kids.  They are hairier than most children....  but Justin loves them anyway.

When they get a chance to relax, Justin and Mallory like to get some quality time together with Call of Duty.

Justin has been such a wonderful help to me this year, and I have loved the chance to teach and help him as he has developed his talents and his business has grown. I'm excited to see what the future holds for them.
