SLC Temple

Goin' to the temple and we're...

Congratulations to Brittany and Scott on their wedding today at the Salt Lake City Temple.  We're headed to the Springville Art Museum for the reception but had a couple minutes to post a sneak peak!

Salt Lake Temple Wedding- Kelsey & Brandon

Kelsey and Brandon were fabulous clients!  They were excited and willing to do whatever it took to get great wedding photography.  They are the kind of people who take the time to tell you, on their own wedding day, how fabulous you look all dressed up.

Kelsey and Brandon met up in Idaho- Kelsey was working as a nanny for a family and Brandon worked washing windows.  One day Kelsey looked out the kitchen window and saw Brandon and that, as they say, was that.  They rapidly found out how awesome the other person was, and we fast forward to today!

Just look how happy they are strolling out the doors of the temple!

The Temple grounds looked unreal with this light sprinkling of snow- it was absolutely gorgeous!!

Love this next one- just a quiet moment with their happiness.

The best thing in the world is when your bride and groom are just beaming at each other.

Want to see more or order a print?  Be sure and take a look at all of Kelsey and Brandon's different galleries here.

Zmoos Wedding- Salt Lake City

One of the top reasons I liked working with Abbey and Taylor is even when things went wrong, sometimes disastrously so, they were still so pleasant and happy. They had had some fairly large hurdles to overcome with their formal session and as the day of the wedding came things seemed to continue in that same vein. Abbey and Taylor had extended family in town for the weekend, and apparently some of the nieces came bearing gifts in the form of plague. The little Typhoid Marys kindly shared a nice violent flu with everyone in the family, including the bride, a few days before the big day itself. Although Abbey was mostly feeling better by the morning of the wedding, on the way to the Salt Lake Temple she had an allergic reaction to something, and her eye swelled almost completely shut (fortunately a temporary situation!). Later, about halfway through the newlywed photos, Taylor's tux coat button popped off for the second time. Finally, someone accidentally spilled water over one of their favorite enlargements from the bridal session, right before the reception was due to begin. Despite this and the normal stress and craziness that come part and parcel in a wedding day, Abbey and Taylor were both happy, smiling, and thoroughly in love. It was extraordinary, and they were awesome!

I thought this was precious....

You got to be careful with a whole bunch of groomsman who are bigger than you. Crazy stuff happens. ;)

The entire wedding can be seen here. Go check it out!

Alyssa's Bridals

I met up with Alyssa and her posse in Salt Lake at Temple Square. We managed to schedule a time when they still had all these gorgeous tulips all over everywhere (alas, they have been replaced now with other flowers), which made for some eye-popping color in the backgrounds. Alyssa brought along three friends to help out with the session, and I put them all to work holding flashes and reflectors (future bridal-photo-posse-members be warned). Alyssa was so natural in front of the camera and just so easy to work with that I literally felt like I could shoot her all day. spring bridal photography, Temple Square, SLC

She had this really fun shawl that she wore with her dress part of the time... I have never seen anything quite like it with a wedding dress.

Between the superbly manicured gardens and the classic architecture, Temple Square is a great place to shoot even when you are not trying to get "temple photos".

I LOVE the exposed bulbs along this exit by the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The lights, along with her pose, the way her dress is flared, and the combination with the visible flash give it a really "vintage 50's paparazzi" feel to me.

I love spring. Love it. It's just so refreshing after a really long, dull winter.
