This Friday from 3pm-8pm and Saturday from 11am-7pm we will be up at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City for the Bridal Showcase. We've put a lot of work into our booth this year, and I think we'll have a great time meeting everyone attending the show! If you are engaged or are beginning to plan a wedding stop by our booth. We're dead center down the middle aisle.
Hope to see you there!
Libraries and Lights
The Salt Lake City library is a beautiful building, and is an awesome modern look for a location. It was especially appropriate for Leigh and Craig, as Craig is getting his Masters degree in library science, and Leigh works in the library at BYU. So they were right at home!
This next photo just makes me so happy! I love happy people and showing that giddy happiness that comes from true love. It's moments captured like this that make me grateful to be a photographer.
The lights around Temple Square were just fantastic, and gave some truly gorgeous backgrounds as it started to get darker....
You can see the entire gallery for Leigh and Craig's pre-wedding day formal session here.
Merry Christmas!
I'm off to Spokane with Thomas to visit my family for the holiday. I hope all of you have a very merry Christmas, and that the holidays are a time for you full of love, laughter, and delicious FOOD!
As a special Christmas gift this year, we managed to find our box of ornaments that we thought had been lost in our last move. I was especially excited about it as it contained all the ornaments I had received each year since I was a baby. In my family, each year we each got an ornament that represented a little bit of that year, and I was given the collection when I got married a few years ago. Some are beautiful, some are funny, and some are just sentimental.
Here's a peek of our tree, and a few of the ornaments on it....
The first one was a wedding gift to us from my mother-in-law, who has hand-made these satin bells for her tree. Each bell represents over 40 hours of work! The second was my very first ornament ever!
I was originally a music education major in college, I played soccer for 8 years growing up and refereed for 3 years after that, and I was an adorable kindergartner.
Now the first photo might confuse you, until you realize what the little red bird is- it's a kiwi! For those of you who might not know, I am a first-generation American. My mother is from England, and my father is from New Zealand, and so I am half-kiwi. The second photo pretty much sums up my sophomore year of college- I was diagnosed with mono (later it turned out that it was a misdiagnosis, but that's a story for another time), and went from sleeping an average of 3-4 hours a night to about 13-14.
The final photo is my first Christmas gift from my husband Thomas. We decided to continue the tradition I grew up with and give each other an ornament each year. This year I got this awesome pewter camera. Given that I have been working about 60 hour weeks all year, eating, sleeping, and breathing photography, this ornament sums up my year to a T. Here's looking forward to another year of wonderful times behind my lens!
Christmas with the Pearsons
I love Darryl and Rachelle! They are wonderful friends, and it's been awesome to watch (and photograph) Teagan as he gets bigger.
And Teagan wishes you all a very Merry Christmas. ;)
Warner Family
The Warner family was a joy to shoot, as they were a group made up entirely of good-looking adults who were easy to give direction to, and babies who were absolutely adorable. I seriously could have shot the older baby all day! She was so photogenic and just unbearably CUTE that I was tempted to try and make a break for it with her!
Happiness and lots of light make for a good family portrait! You can see the entire Warner family gallery here.
Just look at this face. My heart just melts looking at her expression....
Carrie + Andrew
Still catching up on some shoots that never made it to the blog earlier this year.
Morehouse Family
Got their love to keep them warm....
Katie and Steven are amazing. Really. They jump to try anything I suggest, and manage to look fantastic in windy, windy November weather. She had to pull out a couple extra bobby pins, but wasn't fazed by what could have been a "my hair isn't completely perfect for my wedding photos" moment. This formals session was awesome. They are comfortable with each other, and still SO CUTE. They've been dating since they were 15, but you can still see that sparkle.
Rustic Charm- A wedding at Wadley Farms
This was a beautiful ceremony and reception at Wadley Farms in Lindon. It was so GREEN!!!
Yeah yeah yeah, I know the bride is supposed to be the focal point, and it's her day, but every single wedding that I shoot where there is a flower girl I question where my loyalties lie. Brandy's daughter was ADORABLE. She starts down the aisle, dumps half her flowers immediately and looks back at her mom, who encourages her to keep going. She then goes to the end of the aisle and happily dumps the remaining half.
Miniature tuxes. Enough said!
I love my job.
This was a gorgeous reception venue! A fantastic combination of rustic country and sophisticated elegance.
